My trip to Rutgers University was absolutely amazing and truly enriching. During this event, I not only gained a wealth of knowledge but also experienced significant personal growth and development. As one of the top three philosophy departments in the country, the academic level of Rutgers University's philosophy department is beyond question. The depth and breadth of the lectures were perfectly balanced, and the teaching style was both open and engaging, making the material highly captivating and stimulating.
What stood out the most was the emphasis American professors place on classroom interaction and questioning. This approach created an incredibly lively and dynamic class atmosphere. I made a conscious effort to ask questions actively and engage in discussions. This not only improved my academic skills but also greatly boosted my social abilities and confidence in speaking. The encouragement to participate actively in class discussions helped me develop a more critical and analytical mindset, essential for philosophical studies.
Aside from the rigorous academic schedule, we had the opportunity to explore various aspects of American culture. We visited Princeton University, which provided a contrasting yet equally impressive academic environment. Our trip to New York City was another highlight, offering a vibrant cultural experience and a glimpse into the hustle and bustle of one of the world's most iconic cities. Participating in recreational activities such as golf also added a unique dimension to the trip, allowing us to unwind and appreciate the diverse opportunities available in the United States.
These activities and experiences collectively provided a deeper understanding of American culture and the academic atmosphere of American universities. They also underscored the importance of balancing academic pursuits with cultural and recreational experiences, contributing to a well-rounded educational journey.
Overall, this trip was exceptionally wonderful. It not only enhanced my academic and social skills but also broadened my horizons, leaving me with unforgettable memories and a deeper appreciation for both American culture and the field of philosophy. This journey has undoubtedly been a pivotal and transformative experience in my educational career.
